Memorial union building servicesI was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to work at MUBS. The sense of community and team work is what made this internship site so enjoyable. I also was given a lot of trust and freedom while working on my job site. I worked along side my mentor, Mike Mayers who was the Building Operations and Project Manager. As well as Cindy Garmon, the Operations Manager, and the Help Desk.

My days at MUBS started with a meeting. Each day consisted of two meetings; a morning meeting and a late afternoon meeting. These meetings were to help everyone be on the same page as well as pass down what everyone would be working on for the day. These meetings gave me a sense of encouragement and organization to get my work done. We also would occasionally have an Operations Team meeting based on what important projects and events are going on around the MU and the cultural resource centers, and any other building we worked on.
Other than informational meetings we had several different things going on around these buildings including; maintenance, collecting data, custodial work, projects, events and preventative maintenance.
My main project for this summer internship was to work on their CMMS system called, Maintenance Connection. This system is to keep buildings and their assets in a hierarchical order as well as keep a history on work orders and preventive maintenance - which are two very important things for building services. These two things are important to keep the services going as well as in order, and to make sure everything is working and in the right place.
